Local Wanderers

I was supposed to be taking surf photos, but the waves weren’t that great. Flocks of these little birds kept cruising up and down the beach, but would quickly fly off if I tried to get too close. So instead of moving to them, I just sat and waited – for awhile – for them to come to me. Crouched low and impatiently waiting, another flock eventually came by. It was worth the patience for this fleeting moment on the coast of Vancouver Island.
