Working with the Google Home team, we looked at various ways in which the product portfolio could be expanded and considered for kids. Concept devices, new modes of interaction, and product accessories were all fair game. One of the new device ideas (not the one shown here) came very close to becoming a reality. The concept explored different ways in which kids and adults could interact with the Google Home ecosystem beyond just voice commands. A peripheral device was introduced with loads of new interaction and feedback paradigms. After several rounds of refinement and engineering samples, the project got sidelined due to broader business strategies. I can’t share much here, but would love to chat about my role and efforts on these various projects.
The smart home isn't just for the adults anymore.
