Frozen Fingers

Winter in the mountains turns quickly and comes whether you are ready or not. Having done this hike several times in summers past, it was refreshing to get out during a late fall weather window and experience it under different conditions. Moving through a glacial valley full of subalpine vegetation, it quickly became evident this time of year the valley never receives direct sunlight. The warm summer sun gave way to frigid conditions that will most likely leave these unlucky locals completely frozen throughout the long winter months.
