Red Cedar

The sun had been peaking in and out all day during this hike in the central Cascades. I was all but a half mile from the trailhead when a ray of sunlight happened to shine almost perfectly on massive older growth cedar. This beast of a tree was basking in the late summer sun, and was like a glowing beacon among the smaller second and third growth trees surrounding it.
