Transitions

While wandering around these remote sand dunes in Death Valley, I had been using a wide angle lens for the majority of my shots. I felt the need to switch things up, so I mounted my telephoto lens. I’m always amazed at how a change in lenses can completely shift your perspective on a place. With the ability to zoom in and really isolate details, I noticed these beautiful intersecting layers. The transition from light to dark and the subtlety of textures made for a really cool abstract image, almost making you look twice to figure out what you’re looking at.
